To the Future – Amato Kanon, Star Troupe

Profile

Debut – March 2016, THE ENTERTAINER
Nickname – Kanon
Birthday – February 9
Hometown – Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture
Blood type – AB
Current biggest offstage interest – I can’t play at all, but I’m practicing the guitar!

First Takarazuka show:
It was Moon Troupe’s 2011 production Prince of the Land of Roses/ONE.

School clubs:
I didn’t join any clubs, but I was learning a lot of things at the time like ballet, musical theatre, and piano!

Reason for taking TMS entrance exam:
When I first saw a Takarazuka show, I was so struck by that world that my tears and goosebumps wouldn’t subside and I determined ‘I’m going to get in there too!’

Memories of the debut performance:
On the first day I was given the audience address, but I was so full of joy at being able to stand on the Takarazuka stage like I had always dreamed of, and those feelings ran away with me, so my voice ended up very shaky… Even though I was only a newly debuting student it made me realize very clearly how important personal control is for a stage performer.

A role that had a deep impression:
The role of Anushiko, from ATERUI. It was my first time being given such a large role, and my body and spirit just wouldn’t get it so I was often at the point of totally losing heart, but so many people gave me their support and I learned many things. Those days of living as one of the Emishi people while surrounded by so many senior actresses I respect were really happy for me. I love, love, love that show, and it’s full of memories for me.

Senior actresses you admire:
Asami Jun-san and Rei Makoto-san. I admired Asami-san for ages even before I entered Takarazuka, and I love her dance style and her charm! Of course I respect Rei-san as a performer, but also she looks out for, respects, and cares for people, and she’s a very kind person, so I have the biggest respect for her as an individual as well.

Your dream as a performer:
I want to become able to help make shows that will cause the audience to want to see them over and over again. Also, I’ll try my best to always do everything earnestly with all my strength!!
