Make a choice! was the 2021 Top Star feature in Kageki, where each Top Star answered a question with two choices, created by one of the other Top Stars. This one was published in November, with Rei Makoto asking ‘You’re lost! What do you do?’

You’re lost! What do you do?
A) Stop and think for a bit.
B) Keep going and see what happens.
Moon Troupe: Tsukishiro Kanato
I pick…
I’d never keep going if I didn’t know where I was. When I go somewhere unfamiliar I look up a map and get the general idea in my head first. If I still ended up lost, I’d get out my smartphone and follow the map.
Everyone else would…
Rei (Yuzuka) looks things up right away. I think she’d use her phone navigation if she was wandering somewhere unfamiliar. I think Saki-san (Ayakaze) would just keep going, and she wouldn’t really be lost, just enjoying the scenery or whatever, I think she seems like she’d like that. Koto (Rei) would get flustered and freeze up as soon as she got lost. Then once she’d calmed down and thought she’d keep going. Makaze-san doesn’t seem like she’d get lost in the first place, but she’d still be cool if she got lost (laughs). I think if she was with someone else she’d be the first to notice if they got lost.

Which one…I’ve haven’t gotten lost all that much before. I don’t read maps ahead of time so I have trouble with places I haven’t been before, but once I’ve been someplace once I remember the basics. Of course I’ve gotten lost on overseas trips, but in the end I feel like I kept going based on the street signs, so I don’t think I’d really stop.

Rei-chan (Yuzuka) would stop for a bit and think calmly. Battling with herself, battling with her path… (laughs). I think Reiko (Tsukishiro) reads maps, so she wouldn’t keep going into the unknown but calmly read a map and then keep going. Kocchan (Rei) seems like she’d keep going. I feel like she’d get lucky and make it there in the end. Yurika-san (Makaze) maybe wouldn’t keep going. She’d acknowledge that she was lost and calmly read maps and ask people for directions: she’d deal with the whole thing thoroughly.

Basically I’m B. Both can apply to me, but if I’m thinking while I’m driving, I like to go as far as I can and then think ‘Now how do I get back?’
Everyone would…
Yurika-san wouldn’t get lost in the first place! (laughs) I’m sure she would get to her destination by the shortest possible route. I’ve only seen her performances on video until now, but I feel a lot of passion and ‘guts’ from her onstage. So I think she’d keep going! When I think about what Rei-chan was like in the Music School, she wasn’t all that fierce. But seeing her in Cool Beast!! singing while holding a hunk of meat, I want to put her in column B. Usshii (Tsukishiro) would probably think calmly ‘Ah, I’m lost’. But then I also feel like she’d think ‘Well I’m sure it will work out somehow’ and keep going… This is hard. Please tell me!

There’s no ‘ask for directions’ option, huh (laughs). As for fighting my way through by myself…that makes me think of Kocchan’s (Rei’s) stoicism (laughs). It would depend on the situation for me: where I got lost, whether there were signs I could rely on nearby…whether I had the sun or the stars to see by (laughs), whether there were buildings… If I thought and thought and couldn’t figure it out I’d try my luck, but in general my first course would be A, I think.

Reiko-chan (Tsukishiro) wouldn’t do anything reckless so I think she’s A (laughs). What would Ayakaze-san do…I’d like to see her do B. I’d want her to gallantly declare ‘This way!’ and keep going. Kocchan would be B. Actually though, anybody who chooses A for this would probably try ‘asking for directions’ right (laughs). I see Makaze-san as another A. She seems like she would observe everything and think of the solution with the best chances of success rather than wasting her energy.

I’m definitely somebody who stops and asks for directions immediately (laughs). I’d ask a shop girl ‘I’m trying to go to such-and-such, can you help me?’ or something like that. Even though I look into a lot on my own, when I don’t know where I’m going that’s the fastest way. Well, still, since I know how to drive I can read a map pretty well, so I don’t think I’m bad at directions!

Doesn’t Rei-chan seem to have a great sense of direction? She seems like she’d think about it herself, so A. Reiko-chan also seems like she’d be able to figure it out. Saki-chan seems like she’d keep marching on and then say ‘Nope, this way!’ (laughs). Kocchan (Rei) also seems like a B, but I think she has a surprisingly cautious side to her so maybe A. I wonder which?
