In the 2013 Top Star feature for Kageki, the Tops of each troupe took turns submitting questions that they would all answer, as well as predicting the question writer’s own answers.
The questions from February (submitted by Yuzuki Reon):
1) Which of these things would make you surprisingly or unsurprisingly the most happy to receive on Valentine’s Day?
2) Have you ever nearly fallen off the Silver Bridge?
Let’s Ask Two Questions! – February 2013
Q1: Which of these things would make you surprisingly or unsurprisingly the most happy to receive on Valentine’s Day?
A – Chocolate; B – Okaki (Mochi Chips); C – Potato Chips; D – A hand-knit sweater; E – Daily Necessities (Laundry detergent, shampoo, face masks, etc)
Q2: Have you ever nearly fallen off the Silver Bridge?
(Submitted by Yuzuki Reon)
Ranju Tomu, Flower Troupe

Answer to Q1: A – Chocolate
Unsurprisingly, I’d be happy to receive chocolate. I like ‘mature chocolates’ that have a lot of cacao and aren’t too sweet. I’d be happy to be given detergent or other necessities, but I’m going with chocolate here. I predict [Yuzuki’s] answer is going to be potato chips. You’d say “Chie (Yuzuki) really loves these~” and eat them, isn’t that right? (laughs)
Answer to Q2: Yes
I don’t have a really impressive anecdote to go here, maybe just because I can’t remember one. I’ve lost my balance and almost fallen when spinning on the bridge during revues. Spinning around is surprisingly dangerous. My prediction…well, of course she has! (laughs)
Ryuu Masaki, Moon Troupe

Answer to Q1: E – Daily Necessities
When I was given some detergent from my favorite line, the second I opened the package my eyes started sparkling (laughs). Recently I’ve realized I like sweets and I’m in danger of eating too much chocolate… If the potato chips are Happy Butter flavor then I want them (laughs). Yuzuki-san will maybe say Daily Necessities. My Osaka blood is stirring (laughs).
Answer to Q2: Yes
I’ve felt certain I was going to fall, but I’ve never actually fallen yet. In my current show1 I have a lift on the Silver Bridge, and I’m always dancing like I don’t care if I fall. Probably Yuzuki-san has too? I’m sure this has happened to everybody.
Sou Kazuho, Snow Troupe

Answer to Q1: A – Chocolate
I’ve always loved chocolate, but I don’t buy it myself too often. And on top of that, if it’s for Valentine’s then it feels extra special, right? That like… ‘I bought this thinking of Sou-san’, those feelings make me happy. Chie definitely isn’t going to share whatever it is with me (laughs), so I guess I’ll just say the handmade sweater!
Answer to Q2: Yes
I’ve had times where I’ve thought ‘That was scary!’ but I’ve never fallen. On the Grand Stairs I have…but 24 centimeters wide vs 1 meter wide is a big difference, right (laughs). A dancer like Chie would have an excellent sense of balance, so even if the Silver Bridge was 24 cm wide I think she wouldn’t fall! (laughs)
Ouki Kaname, Cosmos Troupe

Answer to Q1: B – Okaki
I like chocolate okaki, and also stuff like salad senbei and wet senbei. But I’ve never been given okaki on Valentine’s day (laughs). Chie-san might say daily necessities. She uses face masks a lot after the shows end.
Answer to Q2: Yes
The day of dress rehearsals is the most dangerous. There’s no audience, so it’s easy to lose track of the atmosphere of the space and get drawn in towards the audience seats. But it hasn’t happened to be in a while. I think it’s happened to Chie-san too. It was definitely in The Scarlet Pimpernel or something…I heard after one of her songs she almost fell once.
Yuzuki Reon, Star Troupe

Answer to Q1: E – Daily Necessities
I felt like everyone must want to know, so as their representative I decided to ask all the Top Stars (laughs). And with 5 options, too (laughs). As for me…I’d be happy with chocolate or okaki or potato chips or anything, but just for the novelty I’ll pick daily necessities. It makes me really happy to use things I can actually use, like detergent or something.
Answer to Q2: Yes
Everyone always looks like they’re fine (laughs), but I’m sure they’ve all had scary things happen. When I was playing Chauvelin (in The Scarlet Pimpernel) there’s one part where as soon as my song ends, snap! the stage lights go off and I did end up pretty wobbly there once.
1 – From her schedule this would be The Rose of Versailles: Oscar and Andre.
