To the Future is a small GRAPH interview of junior actresses. This one was published in the April 2017 issue.
To the Future: Kazama Yuno, Moon Troupe
Profile
Debut performance: March 2014, Takarazuka Odori
Nickname: Oda-chan, Yuno
Birthday: May 1
Hometown: Tokyo, Shinagawa Ward
Favorite offstage hobby: Visiting onsens
First Takarazuka show:
MAHOROBA/A Magician’s Misfortunes
School clubs:
I was in the going-home club! I didn’t participate in any school club activities – since I was a member of a local track-and-field club, I would always hurry straight back home from school.
Motive for taking TMS entrance exam:
When I first saw A Magician’s Misfortunes, I was so struck by how cool Sena Jun-san was that I thought ‘I want to be an otokoyaku too!’
Memories of the debut performance:
Me and my classmates practiced the kicks for the Rockette dance over and over again. We were pouring tears and sweat as we kicked.
A role that had a deep impression:
The role I was given in the Grand Hotel junior performance, Otto Kringelein. Even though I didn’t know a bit about acting or character creation, Miya Rurika-san, from the main cast, taught me everything from zero. It let me understand the fun and satisfaction of being an actor.
Senior actresses I admire:
Sena Jun-san. Sometimes she’s passionate, sometimes she’s cool – she really embodies what it is to be an otokoyaku. I really admire her magnanimity as well.
Dreams as a performer:
As an otokoyaku, I want to be dazzling and sexy, with a generous personality. I want to be a performer who can play both light and dark roles.
