Hokushou Kairi’s #1!

We surveyed all the Star Troupe members about what was Hokushou Kairi’s ‘Number One’!! And now, what are the results? Have a look, along with Hokushou Kairi’s comments!

This is her coolest aspect in rehearsals!

#1 She watches the junior actresses attentively and gives them advice

“She’s always thinking about the junior actresses and the rest of the troupe, so even though of course Hokushou-san is the one struggling the most, she’ll always cheer people on and say things like ‘let’s do it!’ She’s so generous.” –  Minato Rihi

#2 How seriously she applies herself to rehearsing

“It’s wonderful to see how much time she puts in when she’s rehearsing” – Kurenai

I mean, if I don’t I’ll never be able to remember everything (laughs)

“Even during the breaks, she’ll listen to the songs, or work on memorizing the lyrics, or be reading the script… But if people are joking around she’ll join in which is lovely!!” – Miki Chigusa

Hahaha, that means I’m not concentrating though (laughs)

#3 Her playfulness (10 votes)

“No matter how busy she is, she’ll try to make people smile!” – Tenju Mitsuki

I spend such a long time awake that I get hungry a lot, so I eat all the time

#4 When she brings hand-made food for everyone (8 votes)

“She’ll say “I thought you all must be so tired” and make tomato and cucumber pickles to bring for everyone!!! I’m so moved at what a kind person she is but I always end up just watching from a distance…for some reason I just can’t stand tomatoes or cucumbers… But if they were cucumbers Micchan-san prepared I could get them down…probably ✨” – Ooki Makoto

When she comes to rehearsal in a more casual look (which just makes her coolness increase!), and her whole gaze and bearing as she is diligently rehearsing!! Also, the difference between that and when she will sometimes be nibbling on sweets is just too much!! Ah! Also, when she is sitting with her Walkman and listening to something as she focuses on one spot~ it’s the best! Ah~ there’s too much to write down… 😭

Focusing on one spot…do you mean when my mind is totally elsewhere? (laughs) This is a total fangirl comment, isn’t it (laughs)

#1 Her way of wearing hats

“The way she wears felt hats and sets the brim. It minimizes what’s obscured from the side, and I love how you can see her profile clearly 💖” – Amaki Homare

I reached that ability after 19 years of constant learning, so I’d be delighted if, like I learned from my seniors, the junior actresses gradually picked up skills from me.

#2 Her looks and gestures as she gazes at a musumeyaku, her chivalry (8 votes)

But like…all the musumeyaku are so cute, so naturally I’m going to look at them, that’s all (laughs)

I want Michiko-san to embrace me tightly from the front!! I’d love for her to hug me while laughing!! (laughs)

Come to think, I’ve hardly ever hugged you from the front. Maybe…that’s beyond me~ (laughs)

Final message from Hokushou: “I’m so happy that you’ve watched my shows from before I came to Star Troupe. While it’s a little embarrassing to realize that you’ve been watching me so closely in rehearsal (laughs), I always hope to make the performer ‘Hokushou Kairi’ someone who you all can learn from by example!”
