Snow Troupe’s Neiro Yui in strong-minded heroine role – reflects “I got through it on passion and energy”

The junior performance of the Takarazuka Revue Snow Troupe’s production CITY HUNTER – The Stolen XYZ took place on the 31st, in the Takarazuka Grand Theatre, Hyogo. The lead was large, up-and-coming young star Agata Sen, and Neiro Yui, a 105th class member in her 3rd year with the company, was selected as her musumeyaku partner and took to the stage in her first junior heroine role.

The main cast performance is the home theatre debut of Snow Troupe Top Star Ayakaze Sakina and Top Musumeyaku Asazuki Kiwa. Neiro, plays strong-willed heroine Makimura Kaori, who is also the ‘partner’ of protagonist Saeba Ryou. “It was so hard. I didn’t know how to show the change in [her] emotions…” she said, revealing her struggles. She reated that Asazuki told her “Be earnest with the Makimura Kaori within yourself. Value your own heart as your partner.” Asazuki also advised her to trust in her own intuition, and she was able to make it through to the close of the performance.

Neiro attracted attention from the time she entered the Takarazuka Music School for her gorgeous appearance. Upon her graduation in 2019, she presented her powerful vocal skills with classical solos and other performances in the ‘Culture Festival’ graduation production in February.

She graduated and entered the Revue at the top of her class in March of 2019. At the time of her graduation she revealed that she admired former Moon Troupe Top Musumeyaku Manaki Reika, who displayed great indivisuality in singing, dance, and acting.

Talking about her first junior heroine role, she said “Basically I just was wondering what I should do… Today, there was a side of it where I just got through it on passion and energy.” She promised that “(Next time) in Tokyo (for the Toyko Takarazuka Theatre junior performance) I want to perform with more polish on the fine details.”
