Voyage With You was a Kageki photoshoot and interview feature where the Top Combi picked a destination and time period for a photoshoot, as well as having a talk about the location and related Takarazuka shows. Yuzuka and Hoshikaze picked America in the 1970s-80s for their feature, which was published in the August issue.

What if we could travel to any time, anywhere…?

After the photoshoot…
Makaze: We’re the fourth troupe to have this feature, and we worked hard looking for what country would be best.
Jun: We did.
Makaze: We struggled, but the editorial staff also gave us a lot of ideas, and end up trying this ‘retro America’ theme. We were taling about how we hadn’t done many shoots with this kind of cute feeling before, right.
Jun: Yes! The clothes you’re wearing are totally different from anything I’ve seen you wear when we’ve done jobs together.
Makaze: Yeah, it’s different this time.
Jun: And the props they got together for us, too…
Makaze: They were so cute, right.
Jun: Yes, they were so cute!
Makaze: The air even smelled like America, since they brought hamburgers (laughs).
Jun: Real ones!
Makaze: It was so fun the way just the smells took is there.
Jun: It really felt like I was going on a trip with Yurika-san.
Makaze: Yeah, it was so fun.
Jun: So much fun.
If you could actually go…?
Makaze: Have you been to America?
Jun: I haven’t. Have you?

Makaze: I’ve been to New York. But this photoshoot was ‘retro’ America, around the 1970s or 1980s.
Jun: Fashion and movies and everything like that were really booming during that era, right.
Makaze: Yeah, and the colors and different clothing pieces from back then are cute, so it was really nice to do soemthing fun like this. Look at your outfit, it’s so cute.
Jun: I consulted with Yurika-san so much…
Makaze: The hair bow was so cute.
Jun: (laughs and blushes). I thought this kind of look would be nice together with Yurika-san, so I chose the ribbon.
Makaze: Great thinking!
Jun: You looked amazing too, Yurika-san!
Makaze: I did the set with top and bottom matching print. It’s fun using a time like this to think of a style you don’t usually wear.
Jun: Yes!
Associated shows
Makaze: As for shows set in America…have you been in any?
Jun: Once Upon a Time in America and Hollywood Gossip were set in america, right.
Makaze: Oh, that’s right.

Jun: We play Americans as characters a lot, but I feel like in terms of shows set in America there are less than you’d think.
Makaze: I think you really might be right. I’ve been in West Side Story and Ocean’s 11.
Jun: That’s right! I think Yurika-san suits any country, but I feel like America works especially well for you.
Makaze: Really?
Jun: Yes, and the photoshoot today just felt amazing…Also, speaking of the 1970s and 80s, I think you’d also look great with those retro American cars
Makaze: That’s right, there are a lot of really cute looking cars from this era.
Jun: I wish I could see you driving one!
Makaze: Oh~, that would be nice!
