Moon Troupe Troupe Report, May 2015

Troupe Report is a Kageki feature where an appointed reporter will write about current events in the troupe or ask troupe members for questions to answers sent in by readers. Reporters rotate more slowly and in many troupes are only replaced on retirement or transfer, unlike other backstage features that rotate monthly or quarterly. (Moon Troupe sometimes rotates faster.)

Moon Troupe’s Troupe Report was written by Shimon Yuriya in 2015. The May edition focuses on the rehearsals for 1789: Les Amants de la Bastille.

“For Golden Week, we’re off to turbulent France…”

Hello, everyone!! Moon Troupe is currently in the last stretch of rehearsals before opening!

By the time you read this Troupe Report, I’m sure the curtain will have opened on the splendid stage of 1789: Les Amants de la Bastille

What I wanted to show you today is something that always gets brought out for Director Koike’s rehearsals, his STAGE SET MODEL!!!!!

When I looked into the creative staff, it seems that Director Tabuchi, who had studied stage design, first made it [for Koike]… ✨ It’s a perfect 50::1 replica!! The sets and decorations are all just like they would be for a performance… The turntable can turn and the lifts can even go up and down ⚡️ And to top it all off!! He even has models of the troupe members using sized-down portraits from Otome ✨

It’s too bad this is in black and white 💦 For the Troupe Report, he set it up with the palace set and the title sign, with the models for Ramard (me) and his two underlings 🎵

But Ramard of the Secret Police…keeps having separate assignments, even during rehearsals…so I don’t see a lot of people 😥 Therefore, I asked questions to my two adorable underlings and my dear sweet Olympe ⭐️

Q: It’s spring! What new challenges would you like to take on?

A:
Loisel, played by Aasa (Asami Jun) – I want to take English lessons!!
Tournemain, played by Mayupon (Kizuki Yuuma) – I want to grow some plants 🌞 Ones with flowers… 🌷
Olympe number 1, played by Wakaba-chan (Saotome Wakaba) – Cooking 🎵 Mayu (Yumeha Miyu) made reservations so I’m going to go to a cooking class 🎵
Olympe number 2, played by Umi-chan (Umino Mitsuki) – This isn’t specific, but I want to try dances and instruments I’ve never done, and challenge myself with a lot of things at a culture school to find some new hobbies ✨

Finally I ran into a revolutionary!

Robespierre, played by Tamakichi (Tamaki Ryou) – I want to go cycling in nature! And I’ve wanted to try surfing for 2 or 3 years now!!!

Everyone in Moon Troupe is currently challenging themselves for the Grand Theatre performance of 1789: Les Amants de la Bastille!! We’re waiting for you at the theatre ✨
