I often wear relaxed-fit pants, and today I tried pairing them with a jacket. I thought putting on the asymmetrical vest type thing might make a good accent. And then I matched it with my favorite sneakers.

I love bucket hats! I’ve collected all kinds, including some with unusual designs.

Describe your personality in one word
Free, going at my own pace, wild child (laughs). I hear this from people all the time, for real. (Kazeiro) Hyuuga, who played my older brother in Casino Royale, told me ‘Since your acting is so free it feels like the play changes every day, it’s really fun.’ I’m always just like, ‘why don’t I try that!’ whenever I get an idea, so I do think I’m really free with things (laughs).

I want to be an otokoyaku with a huge difference between my on and offstage modes, in a good way: I want to be able to be as sharp onstage as my Cosmos Troupe seniors because of how relaxed I am in my general life. And at the same time, what people want from me as an otokoyaku is different depending on the role, so I want to be an actor who can fully bring my character to life. In order to do that, I want to acquire more skill in singing, dancing, and acting, as well as acquiring ‘the power of charisma’.

Story behind your stage name
I love the character ‘Sei/星’, so I just had to put that in. ‘Yuu/有’ is from my real name, and when I looked up the word ‘Yuusei/有星’, it turned out it means ‘star [celebrity]’ in Chinese, so I thought that might be good for an actor. I settled on ‘Yuusei’ first, and I started thinking about things that might go with it starting in order from ‘A’, and suddenly ‘Anon/亜音’ hit me (laughs). When I talked to my family about it they all agreed that the one I liked the most was the best.

My current favorite thing!
My favorite thing is my dog, but I always say that, so if we’re talking about what I’m into right now, that would be iced coffee or iced cafe au lait. I love how drinking it in the morning shocks me alert (laughs). Sometimes I’ll just wander into cute cafes. And miso soup! It’s so nourishing when I put all my favorite ingredients in it, so I have it every day.
