While she enthusiastically displayed her costume for the first time, Sagiri Seina, who plays the protagonist Himura Kenshin, said \u201c[Kenshin] lives with the goal of making many people smile. That\u2019s a bit similar to me and my career in Takarazuka. While I\u2019m projecting Kenshin\u2019s character on myself during the performance, I\u2019d like to be loved for myself as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, the Takarazuka OG, Suzukaze Mayo (age 55) who performed the voice of Kenshin for the anime, and the creator of the manga, Watsuki Nobuhiro, were also in attendance. They wanted to see Ms. Sagiri and her colleagues\u2019 performance for themselves. Ms. Suzukaze gave it her seal of approval, saying \u201cit\u2019s so exact that it\u2019s almost as if \u2018Rurouni Kenshin\u2019 had been created just for Takarazuka,\u201d and Mr. Watsuki said his hope was that \u201cTakarazuka fans who don\u2019t know Kenshin would enjoy Kenshin, and fans of Kenshin who don\u2019t know Takarazuka would enjoy Takarazuka.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This article about the Rurouni Kenshin press conference was originally published by Daily Sports Online on October 20, 2015.
