Hokushou&#8217;s ran in the October issue. It\u2019s being posted in 2 parts due to length\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/zukalations.com\/index.php\/2018\/04\/20\/hokushou-kairis-1-part-2\/\">Part 2 can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>[T\/N: Hokushou\u2019s commentary is in italics]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hokushou Kairi\u2019s #1!!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We surveyed all the Star Troupe members about what was Hokushou Kairi\u2019s \u2018Number One\u2019!! And now, what are the results? Have a look, along with Hokushou Kairi\u2019s comments!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are your favorite roles she has performed?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#1<\/strong>&nbsp;Sky Masterson, Guys and Dolls (22 votes)&nbsp;<em>Wow!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen Sky and Sarah are singing \u2018My First Love\u2019 on the Silver Bridge\u2026 That bit always got me so emotional. And then after Sarah rejects him, he\u2019s left all alone on the main stage, and sings \u2018My First Love\u2019 again, and turns his back \ud83d\udc96 her back was so cool~\u201d &#8211; Seo Yuria<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere are too many to choose from\u2026!! However, as a Star Troupe member, I have to choose her Star Troupe Grand Theatre debut show as Top Star, where she played Sky Masterson \u2728\u201d Aya Ouka<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Thank you so much. I think maybe it was because it was a show with so many characters all enjoying themselves that I was able to manage without straining to make it work. \u2018My First Love\u2019 is the part where Skye\u2019s feelings are the most conflicted, so it was hard.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#2<\/strong>&nbsp;Talleyrand, Napoleon: The Man who Does not Sleep (12 votes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI played her lover, and every day she would gaze at me with that nihilistic smile\u2026 \ud83d\udc96\u2033 &#8211; Mari Yuzumi<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI heard Michiko-san (Hokushou) sing for the first time in rehearsals, and it gave me goosebumps &#8211; it was unforgettable\u201d &#8211; Sazanami Reira<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>[Due to another performance] I joined the rehearsals a month late, so I had goosebumps for rather a different reason (laughs)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#3<\/strong>&nbsp;Nezumi no Jirokichi, Jirokichi of the Wind (6 votes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe was so cool! No complaints! \u2728 Someone who defies the powerful to protect the weak is totally suited to Hokushou-san, so I loved this role!\u201d &#8211; Shidou Ryuu<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I really like it too!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#4<\/strong>&nbsp;Nakamura Hanjirou\/Toshino Kiriaki, Samurai THE FINAL (5 votes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a role that really let Micchan-san demonstrate her full capabilities.\u201d &#8211; Kurenai Yuzuru<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEver since we first read through the script, I thought it was perfect for Michiko-san \u2728\u201d &#8211; Nanami Hiroki<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What, this made it into the ranking!? Well, then, everybody, make sure you come to the theatre to watch it and see for yourself! (laughs)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#4<\/strong>&nbsp;Dr. Falke, Die Fledermaus (5 votes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMichiko-san\u2019s singing and comedy were so wonderful!\u201d &#8211; Toudou Jun<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#6&nbsp;<\/strong>Franz Josef, Elisabeth (4 votes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI cried when I heard her sing \u2018Boote in der Nacht\u2019\u201d &#8211; Yuuhi Maki<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#6<\/strong>&nbsp;Nick Wells, Brilliant Days (4 votes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI can still perfectly remember how moved I was during my debut when I heard Michiko-san sing as Nick\u201d &#8211; Mito Kurara<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hiraoka Yasu, Gin-chan\u2019s Love<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe was so kind-hearted and generous, and gave his all no matter what, so he\u2019s really a great human being \ud83d\udc96\u2033 &#8211; Sayaka Rin<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lina Lamont, Singin\u2019 in the Rain and Ralph Brown, Paradise Prince<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI love Hokushou-san\u2019s comedy, I always end up smiling really naturally &lt;3\u2033 &#8211; Murasaki Rira<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>You all have such good memories~ I\u2019m so happy!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FROM Hinami Fuu<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sky Masterson, Guys and Dolls<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of looking good in a suit and that swept-back hairstyle, I think she\u2019s the best in the world!! Also, I got to be close with her so much during that show &lt;3 (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Right, because I\u2019m never close with Fuu-chan apart from that show (laughs)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are your favorite revue scenes of hers?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#1<\/strong>&nbsp;THE ENTERTAINER Scene 6, \u2018FOREVER ENTERTAINER!\u2019, THE ENTERTAINER! (32 votes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s something that only Micchan-san could have done. And her voice sounded so amazing \ud83d\udc96\u2033 &#8211;&nbsp;Kurenai<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was right after the 102nd Class\u2019s rockette, and even though she had been exerting herself so much she sat down to play the piano. I think only Micchan could provide that kind of pure entertainment.\u201d &#8211; Kiwami Shin<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Since I went into that scene right after the peak of my exertion during the show, it made me learn a lot about my own concentration and control over my energy.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#2<\/strong>&nbsp;THE ENTERTAINER scene 3, \u2018ROAD TO THE ENTERTAINER\u2019, Mitchel (12 votes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was so fun every time because you never knew what kind of adlib she would do \u2728\u201d &#8211; Nanami<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I was only able to do the one reaction during that scene. I feel like it would have been nice if I could have talked a little more or been able to do a bigger variety of things (laughs)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#3<\/strong>&nbsp;THE ENTERTAINER scene 5, M\u2019S COOL ENTERTAINMENT!, COOL ENTERTAINER \u201cM\u201d (6 votes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSparkling there in the middle of all the grown-up looking performers, Micchan looked just like Mickey Mouse \ud83d\udc96\u2033 &#8211;&nbsp;Rei Makoto<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Oh my gosh (laughs) But that performance was only possible because of how much we practiced it as a group.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#4<\/strong>&nbsp;One Voice act 1 scene 14, ARTHUR\u2019S THEME, Saxophone man (4 votes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FROM Hinami Fuu<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THE ENTERTAINER Scene 6, \u2018FOREVER ENTERTAINER!\u2019, THE ENTERTAINER!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I watched her working on it from the very start of rehearsals. She read all the sheet music and then was practicing at the piano night after night so diligently\u2026it was such a good example to me of the importance of effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I practiced that piece more than an hour a day.
