Farewell Talk: Hinami Fuu and Hokushou Kairi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> The reason I asked for this talk to be with Michiko-san (Hokushou) is\u2026well, I don\u2019t have a reason! It\u2019s because I like you!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Put down that she laughed really nervously (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs). Today, I have so many memories with Michiko-san to talk about\u2026 (takes out notebook)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> You brought notes!? (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> I was like \u2018this thing happened\u2026oh, that thing happened too\u2026\u2019 So I made a journal of all my memories!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Alright, go ahead!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> It all started March 6 of last year, when we did the photoshoot for TAKARAZUKA REVUE 2015<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> \u2026Hang on, what\u2019s this? (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs). We had our photoshoot as a couple at the Takarazuka Hotel that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Ahh~! You have a good memory, don\u2019t you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> It\u2019s a really important memory to me. You were my escort\u2026 That was my first time having that kind of experience. And that\u2019s when my days of not knowing how on earth to react to the amazingly kind and cool Michiko-san began!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> \u2026And how am I supposed to react to that? (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> But since you were in a different troupe I had no idea what kind of girl you were. It was a situation like an arranged marriage, so we kept mutually learning about each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> That\u2019s right. After that, when we did the photoshoot for Great Pirates, I was terribly nervous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Even though it was only about our second time meeting each other I was already totally fine with it, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami: <\/em>I was supposed to have my picture taken held in Michiko-san\u2019s arm, and, just\u2026 When you came out wearing your costume, I remember thinking \u2018Whoa! She\u2019s a prince!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Is that in your journal too? (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> It is. I also wrote down the day we became LINE contacts and such, too (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Wha~t! That\u2019s sca~ry! (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> I wrote down everything!! After that, when the rehearsals for Great Pirates started, my journal became really something. My love had commenced!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> But we were rehearsing until so late, and starting so early, when did you ever have time to write?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> After I went home. Even though I was absolutely drained, I would think \u2018I have to get these memories down while they\u2019re still fresh\u2026!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Amazing. But wasn\u2019t the same sort of thing every day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Not a bit~! Honestly, after meeting Michiko-san, the heart-pounding moments never stopped!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou: <\/em>(laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Around that time, Michiko-san had a party at Rena-san\u2019s (Toa Reiya\u2019s) house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Right, I said \u2018let\u2019s all eat together!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami: <\/em>Yes. More than 20 people gathered, and Michiko-san was the one working the hardest. You were in the preparation area\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> You mean the kitchen (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs). You were in the kitchen, making all this food, and it was so delicious! You didn\u2019t even eat much, but you looked out over everyone and said \u2018this is so nice~\u2019\u2026 I was so moved by that. Even though Michiko-san is giving so much every day, you\u2019re the kind of person who pays attention to the needs of everyone around you. Even though people tell me I have a lot of \u2018power\u2019, I can\u2019t even be compared to you! It was the first time I\u2019d met someone like you, so the first several months, all the entries in the journal are about days where I felt like my life was complete just being able to see you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> (laughs). But I think Fuu-chan (Hinami) is a really amazing person too. Even though I always arrive early, Fuu-chan would already be there rehearsing by yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> No, no\u2026 It always made me so happy when Michiko-san met me at rehearsal in the mornings. I thought \u2018Oh, I\u2019m not alone!\u2019 After meeting Michiko-san, thinking \u2018whether it\u2019s rehearsals or performing on stage, I\u2019m not alone!\u2019 made me so happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> I think I\u2019m fairly particular when it comes to the arts. You did a good job to keep up with me, I think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> I would do anything to be even a little closer to Michiko-san\u2019s skill level!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> While it probably isn\u2019t really apparent when we\u2019re all together, I was like that when we were rehearsing just the two of us. After all, we had the responsibility of carrying the whole troupe. Therefore, I think you really did well keeping up with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> That\u2019s too much\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Well, I was keeping up with you, more like (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> What are you saying! (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> You\u2019re so well composed on stage! Even though maybe I was the one pulling you along in rehearsals, once we got on stage I was the type more likely to screw up. I\u2019d sing the wrong lyrics, or blank on the choreography, or break the microphone\u2026 (laughs) But no matter what you were right there supporting me! I felt so safe since I could rely on you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> What, really?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Yes. We\u2019re a fun couple, aren\u2019t we.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Today, could I ask about how I seemed from Hinami Fuu\u2019s point of view? Since we\u2019ve got the chance, it would be nice to flip the questioning around and ask like \u2018What did you think of me at such and such a time?\u2019 or things like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Do you want to!? Sure\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Like, how did you feel when I was putting the glass slipper on your foot (in LOVE & DREAM)? That sort of thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou: <\/em>I couldn\u2019t see your feet at all under all the fabric of that gown. I\u2019d never imagined putting a glass slipper on a princess\u2019 foot could be so hard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami: <\/em>(laughs) That was difficult, wasn\u2019t it. But I was ever so happy. I\u2019d been yearning to have that happen to me since I was a little girl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Oh, making a sudden time jump here, sorry, but let\u2019s go back to Guys and Dolls for a moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs) I have so many memories from Guys! First of all, you took me out to dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Right! Around that time, Fuu-chan had been losing a bit of weight, and people were saying maybe you were getting thinner because I was bothering you about it (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou: <\/em>So I told you \u2018Please don\u2019t try to lose weight!\u2019 And I thought \u2018from now on I have to make sure she eats more meat when we go out!\u2019 After that your physique changed so that you looked like a real carnivore (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> So much muscle~ (laughs). Also, on the last day of rehearsal, you gave me the soft felt hat you\u2019d been using in the rehearsal space. I\u2019m still treasuring it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Where is that thing now?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami: <\/em>It\u2019s decorating the Michiko-san Shrine in my living room!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Ah\u2026I\u2019d like to go back and ask you a question now\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em>\u00a0Yes, by all means!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:\u00a0<\/em>When we had a photoshoot wrapped up in a blanket together for that GRAPH \u2018Match\u2019 feature, it was like my dreams had come true\u2026 How did you feel having me running wild like that? (laugh)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Honestly, I just laughed, and it wasn\u2019t an idea I\u2019d ever have myself, so it was fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> I felt, she really longs to be in the world of a shojo manga. I never really had a \u2018Takarazuka fan era\u2019 but Fuu-chan was a huge Takarazuka fan, so you have that vision of what makes the audience happy. Therefore, it was really fun and I learned a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> You learned from that!?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou: Yes. But even though you were the one who wanted to be wrapped up in the blanket, you ended up so overheated!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> You would always sweat a lot when we did photoshoots together (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> I felt like I would just die (laughs). Michiko-san smells so nice, though!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou: <\/em>(bursts out laughing)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami: <\/em>In that photoshoot it was so fun I was like \u2018nothing can ever top this!\u2019 Well, today was fun too but (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou: <\/em>(laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami: <\/em>In general, I think of myself as being pretty talkative. But when I\u2019m with Michiko-san I really struggle to talk with you\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou: <\/em>You really don\u2019t say much! Today you have to keep things going so you\u2019re talking, but in general you don\u2019t talk a lot. With your classmates or the junior actress you\u2019ll chatter away in rapid-fire Kansai dialect, but why not with me, I wonder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> That\u2019s a bit of a mystery to me too\u2026it\u2019s my first time to have that happen. I suppose I just lose my words in front of such a wonderful person. When I got home I would always be like \u2018Oh no, I wasn\u2019t able to tell her how cool she was today at all~!\u2019 (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Eh, what!? (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> \u2018Ahh, even though I was so moved, I wasn\u2019t able to convey that to her at all, why can\u2019t I talk to her properly~\u2019 I would think\u2026 Even though I was like that, what did you think of me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> !!! (bursts out laughing) Actually, the less you were able to say, the more I could tell that you were really thinking a lot of different things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami: <\/em>Really?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Yes. If you were able to say it right out, I\u2019d assume your emotions weren\u2019t that deep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami: <\/em>When I really tried to say things earnestly, I ended up feeling like I would cry (laughs). Also, it was the first time I ended up thinking \u2018Hey, you stop that!\u2019\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Hold up, what do you mean by that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> But like\u2026 (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Ah, you mean jealousy? (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> In the rehearsal room, all the musumeyaku would be like \u2018Michiko-san is so cool~! That was so amazing~!\u2019 and as I saw them talking I would think \u2018I know all that! I wish I could say it too!\u2019 and stuff like that\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Ahahahaha (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> If I was someone else I\u2019d be able to join in and be like, \u2018yes, yes\u2019 and agree with everything\u2026 I wrote down all that inner conflict in the journal too: \u2018Was that really me holding those kind of emotions towards other people!?\u2019 I would ask myself. It\u2019s basically an account of my struggles (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> We were able to go to so many different places together, weren\u2019t we!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou: <\/em>Like an aquarium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami: <\/em>And Disneyland!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Right, right, we went to Disneyland in the middle of a blizzard, and to Universal Studios Japan in the middle of a rainstorm (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs). Well, we only have a little bit of time left, so where should we go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Ahahahaha! (bursts out laughing) Surely there\u2019s no time for that~?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> No wa~y!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Where do you want to go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> I don\u2019t care as long as I\u2019m with Michiko-san\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> We already did amusement parks, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Yes. You really can\u2019t stand roller coasters, can you Michiko-san (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou: <\/em>Nope (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Well, you definitely won\u2019t want to do this, I think, but I\u2019d like to go to the ocean!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> \u2026\u2026 (makes \u2018nope\u2019 face)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Ahaha (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:\u00a0<\/em>I\u2019m sorry, that\u2019s just\u2026 I know we have the \u2018HinaMI\u2019 and \u2018KAIri\u2019 connection1<\/sup>, but I can\u2019t swim at a~ll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em>\u00a0Alright, I\u2019ll give up on the ocean\u2026 In the end, I think I\u2019d like to go to an amusement park one more time. How about Fuji-Q Highland2<\/sup>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Oh\u2026 (sighs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> I don\u2019t want you running off to ride roller coasters all by yourself any more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> I won\u2019t, I won\u2019t! We\u2019ll go on rides together! They have things besides roller coasters!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> If you want an amusement park I think Disney Sea would be better\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Oh! Then let\u2019s go to Disney Sea then! Yes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> \u2026Did I actually have to say that (laughs). I\u2019m sure everyone else will come too, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> That would be nice. It would be a shame to monopolize Michiko-san for the whole day. Therefore, I won\u2019t ask for a whole day. Let\u2019s go out to eat again as a couple\u2026 (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> You keep casually piling on the requests (laughs). Okay!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Let\u2019s go then!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> You would make me boxed lunches or things to use in the dressing room all the time. It was really impressive, since you weren\u2019t naturally a cook and weren\u2019t that skilled at sewing\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Since I couldn\u2019t talk to you, I had to express my feelings to you like I would have in prehistoric times, I thought. (laughs) But how was the result? I make you all sorts of things, did that get across to you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> Yes. Somehow, I feel that when people have strong emotions it makes them take on new challenges. \u2018Even though she struggles with cooking and sewing, she still makes all these things for me\u2019 I thought. It really conveyed your determination, so that made me happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Really! I do plan to improve more, though (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> But it\u2019s really impressive to improve so much in only a little over a year, I think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> It\u2019s because Michiko-san accepted even things that someone else might not have liked since they weren\u2019t done very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> It doesn\u2019t matter if they look good, since you put so much time and effort into them along with your feelings, so I\u2019d never reject it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hinami:<\/em> Thank you\u2026I\u2019m so happy\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hokushou:<\/em> I think it\u2019s because I received so much love from you even offstage that we were able to come so far in this year and a half. Right now, we\u2019re in the rehearsals for our final performance, but we\u2019re doing everything as usual. We\u2019re not doing anything special do try and make memories. That\u2019s because it\u2019s not as if our bond is going to end with this. Don\u2019t you think?
