This photoshoot and talk feature with Flower Troup Tops Ranju Tomu and Ranno Hana was published in the November 2011 issue of\u00a0GRAPH<\/em>, and was recorded during the run of their official Top Combi debut show, Phantom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Harmony: Top Combi Report – Ranju Tomu and Ranno Hana<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This about them is cute!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> The way you smiled at me during the duet dance in Phantom<\/em>. That was super cute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> \u2026\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Huh? No response!?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> That was so cool, I\u2019m blushing (laughs). It wasn\u2019t as if I was conscious of it, I was just thinking \u2018Ah, this is so fun~\u2019 while we were dancing\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju: <\/em>Yeah, you looked like you were really having fun. It seemed like a totally natural smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> But if I overdo it, please tell me. Say \u201cRanno, you\u2019re having too much fun with this!\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> It\u2019s fine (laughs). After all, I think it will come through to the audience too that you\u2019re genuinely enjoying yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> I see\u2026 Oh, as for something I think is cute about Mayu-san (Ranju) is in the forest scene of Phantom<\/em>, when Eric (Ranju) gives Christine (Ranno) the poetry book, and he\u2019s looking down shyly, like so\u2026 I thought that was really cute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju: <\/em>(laughs) The more you know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno: <\/em>(getting more excited as she remembers) Yes! That\u2019s it!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju: <\/em>What\u2019s this all of a sudden (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> (laughs) Also, your usual soft smile is really wonderful!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju: <\/em>It\u2019s kind of spacey (laughs). Often people will say it\u2019s a really distracted smile (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Costumes they would like to see<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> I love how Mayu-san looks in a uniform!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Hmm~ Is there something you saw that in? Come to think, when have I even worn uniforms\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em>\u00a0When you played Napoleon1<\/sup> recently, right? But also, I\u2019d like to see you wear a really sharp uniform in a revue scene, not just plays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju: <\/em>In a revue! That would be nice, I\u2019d like to do that. As for me, I\u2019d like to see Ran-chan (Ranno) in an outfit that makes you think \u2018She\u2019s a real princess!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> Really?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em>\u00a0It seems like you would have done it, but surprisingly you really haven\u2019t, have you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> Yes. I\u2019ve never ever worn a crinoline dress. But could I really manage wearing one\u2026 More importantly, I fall over a lot onstage. If I was wearing a crinoline dress when I fell, that might turn into a real disaster\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> That\u2019s true, you do seem to trip a lot, Ran-chan (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Incidents<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Since you mentioned falling over (laughs), if we\u2019re talking about onstage incidents, Ran-chan, you fell right over during the Grand Theatre last day performance of Phantom, right. (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> I did\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Flat on your face (laughs). I\u2019ve only fell over onstage once or twice, at most, but Ran-chan, you fall over a lot, don\u2019t you? And so dramatically, too (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno: <\/em>Honestly, I don\u2019t watch my footing well enough, I\u2019m sorry\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> (laughs) In my case, I really don\u2019t have a lot of incidents. Sometimes I won\u2019t recall the lyrics so I\u2019ll have to make something up, that kind of thing. But they always fit the meter, even so. I\u2019ve never had something not fit (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> Amazing\u2026 Oh, but speaking of that, in the scene of Phantom<\/em> where Christine is sleeping and Eric and his father are talking together\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Ah! Right, right. I forgot the lines and had to make them up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> You said something like \u2018Christine is the only one I love\u2019\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Maybe it was \u2018She\u2019s the one I love most in the world!\u2019 or something. Even though those lines aren\u2019t in the script at all (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> That was it! That made me so happy!! Even though I was \u2018sleeping\u2019 I ended up grinning to myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> But after that, I couldn\u2019t think of what to say next, so I ended up yelling \u2018Get out!!\u2019 and throwing my father out of the room a lot earlier than usual (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you exchanged places for a day?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> If I turned into Mayu-san, I\u2019d like to try out a lot of different roles. I could learn a lot from that. I think I\u2019d like to see what it\u2019s like to see the musumeyaku through an otokoyaku\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Ah~, the opposite perspective. Then, I\u2019d also like to be a musumeyaku and study \u2018this is what makes me happy when an otokoyaku does it to me~\u2019, I think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Or, what if I turned into Ran-chan during a day off\u2026but, say, wouldn\u2019t it be way more fun that way!? See, then I could start a fight with your sister Rei-chan (Sumireno Rei), right!? I\u2019ve always been saying I wanted to see the two of you fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> If I tell you we\u2019ve been fighting, you\u2019ll say \u2018I want to see!\u2019 (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju: <\/em>Forget just watching, being able to participate in the fight myself would be amazing (laughs). Also, if I turned into Ran-chan, I\u2019d like to go around and have everyone saying \u2018You\u2019re so cute~\u2019. Since that\u2019s not something that\u2019s ever happened to me (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> I\u2019d like to have people tell me \u2018You\u2019re so cool!\u2019 too. I\u2019d like to try to dazzle people\u2026a lot\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> You\u2019d try winking at them? (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> And sidelong glances too~! But, if I did try that and they were like \u2018Kyaa~\u2019\u2026I\u2019m sure I\u2019d end up giggling\u2026from happiness, or embarrassment\u2026 Ufufufu~<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Ranno has entered her imagination zone~<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> (laughs) Also, I\u2019d like to try dancing something like in Eric\u2019s prologue sequence. If I was able to\u2026oh, but if I was Mayu-san then I really could!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju: <\/em>Go ahead and use my muscles to dance all you want (laughs). Then, I\u2019d do that \ud83c\udfb5 Melodie, melodie<\/em> \ud83c\udfb5 scene. I really like your entrance. You skip in from the back, singing \ud83c\udfb5 Lalalalala~<\/em> \ud83c\udfb5, right? I\u2019d do that really innocently. It would be so~o cute, I think!! (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About today\u2019s photoshoot<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno: <\/em>Today\u2019s photoshoot was so fun!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> You were really looking forward to this for ages, weren\u2019t you, Ran-chan~<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> Yes!! I was so excited ever since it was first decided on. This was a really major event for me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju: <\/em>I\u2019d been thinking \u2018I\u2019d like to do a photoshoot on the seaside~\u2019, and that became a reality; that was really nice, wasn\u2019t it!? The seaside. It had a nice atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> It was just wonderful! And then we were also doing that \u2018Boss and new hire\u2019 scenario\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Right, right (laughs). Since the plan today for us two was that I\u2019d be a boss in the company, and Ran-chan would be a new hire who had a crush on me, that kind of feeling (laughs). I was the one who ended up getting dragged along to the seaside date, though (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> Therefore, even during the photoshoot I\u2019d be firing questions at you (laughs). \u2018Mr. Department Head, what do you like doing on your days off?\u2019 and such (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> I said \u2018driving, I guess\u2019 and you said \u2018next time, take me along, won\u2019t you!\u2019 (laughs). Then, when I asked you \u2018Can you cook?\u2019 and you said you could, I asked \u2018What are you good at?\u2019 \u2026Here, tell them what you said (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> \u2018Yellowtail teriyaki\u2019 (laughs). Because I wanted to play the role of a domestic girl (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> And then, since I was properly in character, I responded, see. I said \u2018Oh? Here I thought you were a progressive career woman, but you\u2019re really quite domestic\u2019, acting as if that had really made a good impression (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em>\u00a0And I made sure I did a \u2018Girlfriend Check\u2019, too! Since you said you liked driving, I asked \u2018Who do you go with?\u2019 And then when you said \u2018I like going alone,\u2019 I was like \u2018okay!!\u2019 (laughs). As a new hire, I still didn\u2019t quite understand how things stood, so I asked you things really directly (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> And then, the two of us really hit it off, so we went right to a bar afterwards\u2026something like that (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> Mayu-san\u2019s expression was so wonderful that my heart really started pounding!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Right, your voice went up by about an octave (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> The judgement of heaven will fall on me for being this happy\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> \u2018The judgement of heaven\u2019 (laughs). But since you were feeling like that during the photoshoot, I\u2019m sure they were able to take really good pictures. Today, I was thinking \u2018I wonder how mature Ran-chan will be able to feel\u2019, but you really did such an amazing expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em> Ufufu~! Ranno victory pose!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em>\u00a0(laughs) At this rate,\u00a0Le Poison2<\/sup><\/em> will be just fine. Since it\u2019s a \u2018love potion\u2019, after all (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno: <\/em>Yes (laughs). From now on I want to keep bringing these new sides of myself out\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju:<\/em> Yes, definitely. From now on, I think you should do your best to keep that fresh feeling, but also try to make people think \u2018Oh? Doesn\u2019t Ran-chan seem so mature now?\u2019 I think that will really give you more range in roles, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno: <\/em>Yes. I\u2019m really looking forward to Le Poison – Love Potion II<\/em>, so I\u2019ll do my best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranju: <\/em>Here, why don\u2019t you put a bit more spirit into it? (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ranno:<\/em>\u00a0Yes! (laughs) I\u2019ll do my best!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
